The Myth Hunters by Christopher Golden

Our hero wanted to be an actor.  But his wealthy family insisted that he become a lawyer.

One night, as our hero contemplates his depressing career in law, he witnesses an icy creature that can only be Jack Frost being chased by a huge hunter! He goes out into the blizzard, hardly believing his eyes, and is swept into a parallel world of myth and magic.

 It seems that someone is trying to kill all the world myths, and he has to help Jack Frost and others, especially since his sister has been kidnapped!  Good thing he also has the help of a sexy Japanese fox-woman whose attributes he cannot stop obsessing over.
